Dr. Melanie Ott is the Director of the Gladstone Institute of Virology, a senior investigator at Gladstone Institutes, and a Professor of Medicine at UCSF. Melanie is passionate about using viruses to find fundamental new biology in host cells. She has made important discoveries contributing to efforts to eradicate HIV, and is focused on preventing the next pandemic. Dr. Ott received her MD degree in 1991 from the University of Frankfurt/Main.
