Quantum Computing is the quintessential exponential technology: the advances in this new form of computing could offer advances in medicine, material science, machine learning, and cybersecurity. Minimizing vaccine side-effects through personalized medicine, better batteries for electric cars, optimizing supply chains, and ensuring cybersecurity are among the many applications of quantum computing. It is likely only 2-4 years until quantum computing will be deployed commercially making the time to invest now. The global repercussions of this technology will be essential knowledge for any executive.

The learning outcomes for the session include: what is quantum computing, what is the current status, who are the major players, what are the use cases, what are the global and local implications, and what steps are involved in creating quantum computing software and cybersecurity. Participants will understand that quantum computing will play an increasingly important role in society, very likely directly impacting their business and personal circumstances.

Bio: Dr. Mark Jackson is the Senior Quantum Evangelist at Quantinuum. He received his B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Duke University and Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Columbia University. He then spent 10 years researching superstring theory and cosmology, co-authoring almost 40 technical articles. He is Adjunct Faculty at Singularity University and a Director of Astronomers Without Borders.
